MVLA Jaguars played hard this past weekend to win 3rd place in the Palo Alto Turf Tournament.  MVLA Jaguars won every game except one to Elk Grove giving up the only goal of the weekend.  This is great preparation for their State Cup games, where Jaguars Blue are ranked # 3 heading into the quarterfinals which take place Jan 21st and Jan 22nd, 2012. 

Monsoon Blue U12 girls beat the competition this past weekend to become Champions of the Palo Alto Winter Turf Tournament premier division.  The girls played with toughness and determination, with some amazing passing sequences to finish with two wins and two ties and no goals against the entire weekend.  Congratulations Monsoon Blue.

MVLA soccer has been named as one of the San Jose Earthquakes Pre- Academy Regional Development Schools in Northern California, offering a dynamic environment for the best players around the Bay Area to practice and train together. 

Thanks to all the generous donations from MVLA players, parents and coaches, MVLA is helping Mr. Salvador Mariana, a legend from El Salvador continues his dream of helping kids in El Salvador play soccer.  Mr. Salvador Mariana is mostly excited that his grandson is part of the MVLA program.

Sarah Robinson(MVLA Lightning U16G) was named to the 2011 NSCAA Girls Youth All- American Team.

Sarah has been playing soccer since she has been 8 years old with MVLA and is also a US Youth National Team and Olympic Development Player.  Congratulations Sarah !

MVLA Typhoons Black U13G team captured the District 2 Cup title on November 20th scoring 2 goals against  Juventus.  Typhoons Black plays in the top competitive CYSA league.   The team is coached by
San Jose State Hall of Fame Player, Stacie Alberico.

MVLA Vipers Blue 00’ U11 Boys Team just came from placing 2nd in Almaden Tournament when they found themselves in the CYSA District Cup finals two weeks later.   Both tournaments, the boys played remarkable, only giving up 1 goal in the Almaden Tournament in the championship. "These boys have been playing great and are really progressing",  MVLA Vipers Head Coach, Rafael Soares commented, "They are ready for 11v11 play in spring!"

The MVLA  Firestorm U17B is seen here celebrating their second District Cup win of 2011. Following on from winning the Gold Bracket of the 2011 Spring District Cup the Firestorm clinched the MVLA hosted 2011 Fall District Cup. The Firestorm burned through the tournament winning all 4 of their games including a thrilling 3-2 finale.
