Club History

From the beginning...

MVLA Soccer club started in 1972 as the Los Altos Soccer Club for boys. It was not until years later that it was a soccer club for both boys and girls and called Mountain View Los Altos(MVLA).

Throughout the years, MVLA has been extremely successful in developing and producing top players in the community, such as Joe Cannon (MLS Player) and Teresa Noyola (Gatorade Player of the Year). MVLA has been home to outstanding coaches such as US National Coach, Steve Sampson, Alberto Montoya(Coach to 9 State Championships and 1 National Championship) and our current Director of Coaching, and US National U17 Coach, Albertin Montoya.

MVLA has always been a pillar in the community. Over the past years, MVLA has been providing opportunity for players at all ages, by offering scholarships and programs in the community. MVLA has been a member of the US Youth Soccer Organization and California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) and plays in several leagues: CCSL, Norcal and Far West Regional League.

2 Region IV Championships (comprised of 14 Western States)
2 National Championships (1 Boys, 1 Girls)
2 Far West Regional League Championships
US Youth National Team Players
2 Youth World Cup Players
2 Players named State Gatorade Players of the Year
- 1 Player named National Gatorade Player of the Year
1 U.S. Youth Soccer Player of the Year
100+ Players on the Cal North State Team

Lightning Wins National Championship

(July 27, 2010) - The Under 14 Girls Foothill MVLA Lightning successfully navigated the waters of preliminary round play at the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Overland Park, Kansas and sailed into the championship game.
