MVLA is a proud sponsor of the Kick, Lead and Dream Soccer Camp (KLD), whichwill run for its sixth consecutive year in July 2012. 

KLD is a grass roots program developed by local teenagers to reach out to at-risk youth in the Mountain View and Sunnyvale communities through soccer with a specific goal of providing meaningful activities during the summer, creating a program that encourage members of the community to give something back and developing a platform to further develop young leaders.  

The KLD senior camp for those entering grades 6-8 was founded in 2006 by MVLA soccer players Akash Nigam, Robby Gamble and Jordan Coff. Sonia Nigam and Allie Gamble, also MVLA players, established the Junior Camp for children entering grades 3-5 in the following year. From 2006 to 2011 the camp grew from just under 30 campers and 5 coaches to nearly 300 children and over 60 teenage coaches. 

Over the past five years, the MVLA Soccer Club has contributed to the camp’s success through financial support and lending of equipment. Most importantly, MVLA soccer players are a key element of the camps’ operation as they volunteer their time to coach the camp. KLD coaches pictured above are soccer players from MVLA Fusion, Thunder, Raptors, United, Ice Breakers, Firestorm and Fury.
