MVLA 1 of 5 Clubs to Qualify 6/6 ECNL Girls Teams for Playoffs

ECNL RL Girls program qualified an additional five teams.

MVLA SC announced itself as a force across the board this season, joining just four other ECNL Girls clubs nationwide to send all six of its teams to the national playoffs. Our club is the only one in Northern California, and one of only two in California, to earn this achievement.

For opponents, MVLA presented a multifaceted challenge: depth that allowed tactical adjustments, and a club culture that turned individual talent into synchronized team play. For the players and coaching staff, the achievement is validation that long-term development strategy can translate into national-level competitiveness.

In a demonstration of a club-wide commitment to excellence, our ECNL RL Girls program qualified an additional five teams for the postseason. They will compete at ECNL RL Playoffs (West) in Norco, CA in June for a chance to advance to ECNL RL National Finals in Seattle in July.

Congratulations to our ECNL and ECNL RL Girls programs for a fantastic season of conference play. We are excited to watch you compete on the big stages!

From ECNL's Press Release : This season, Sosa coached his MVLA U16 girls squad to an ECNL National Championship at the ECNL Girls National Finals, the club's first trophy since 2020-21. Sosa also coached his U15 girls team to the ECNL Girls National Finals, finishing as a Top 8 team in the age group. Fueled by the success of his team and the club overall, MVLA finished 7th in the overall club rankings. "It's an honor and incredibly humbling to be named ECNL Girls Coach of the Year," Sosa said. "I am not the coach I am today without the help of my peers and the amazing coaching staff we have at MVLA. I'm so proud of our club's accomplishments this year and being in the top seven clubs in the country is something we take a lot of pride in. What I love most about coaching in the ECNL is the level of learning that goes on as a coach both in playing against other amazingly talented teams, and having a staff that pushes me to continue learning through different ideas. The ECNL continues to prove why it's the best league in the country through some of the most competitive and well organized events throughout the year."
