Thank you for your interest in MVLA Soccer Club. Since 1972, we have developed local youth players for competitive soccer, at the club level and beyond. Our alumni have competed in at the college, professional, and international levels, and our current teams continue to be among the best in the country. Your MVLA experience begins with a tryout. On this page you will find more information about our club, including how you can tryout.

Our Open Tryouts for Fall 26/Spring 2027 teams will be held the week of May 4 for our younger teams and the week of May 18 for our older boys teams. Note, older girls teams will not hold open tryouts; however you may still sign up and a coach will contact you to set up an evaluation after May 18.
Location for all age groups: Foothill College Soccer Field (Interstate 280 at El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills by Parking Lot 4 northwest side of campus on Perimeter Road).

MVLA AT A GLANCE
For Players New to Soccer: The MVLA Shooting Stars program is open to boys and girls (TK, K, 1st - 3rd grade) and offers the best soccer experience for players starting their soccer journey. There are no tryouts for the Shooting Stars program. Visit our Shooting Stars page to learn more.
Teams, Levels and Practices: 90+ competitive teams for players ages 7 to 18. Days and times for practices are determined based on coach schedule and field availability and are announced closer to the start of the fall or spring season. Most practices are held in the Mountain View/Los Altos area. Club soccer requires a training commitment of at least two times per week (sometimes three) and involves both home and away games and tournaments on weekends. Most players in club soccer play both fall and spring seasons. Visit our BOYS TEAMS and GIRLS TEAMS pages for a complete list of teams and coaches by age group.
MVLA Soccer Club provides a need-based financial aid program. Eligibility is determined by several factors, including financial, city of residence, team level and school GPA/report card. For more information, please visit the

MVLA SOCCER JOURNEY: Age Group Planning
Players In TK/K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade: Shooting Stars Academy features three 6 to 10-week programs per year (fall, winter, spring); signups available by day with additional playdates available on the weekends for our fall and spring seasons. No tryouts necessary.
Players born in 2019: Currently in our In-House Program for Fall 2025 and Spring 26. Our in-house teams practice two times a week in fall and spring (once a week in winter months) along with weekend in-house, small-sided games among our own players. In Spring 26, a select group of players are selected to participate in league or tournament play. For more information about our In-House Program, please visit our FAQ page under MVLA Programs. Tryouts are necessary for new players to MVLA. In Fall 2026, our In-House Program will be made up of players born Aug. 1, 2019-July 31, 2020.
Fall 2025/Spring 2026 Players born in 2018-2014: Pre-ECNL, Pre-NPL or NorCal League (depending on team level). Tryouts necessary for new players to MVLA. In Fall 2026/Spring 2027, the age group will be U8 (Aug 1, 2018-July 31, 2019) to U12 (Aug 1, 2014-July 31, 2015).
Fall 2025/Spring 2026 Players born in 2013-2007: ECNL, ECNL-RL, NPL or NorCal League (depending on team level). Tryouts necessary for new players to MVLA. In
Fall 2026/Spring 2027 the age group will be U13 (Aug 1, 2013-July 31, 2014) to U18/U19 (Aug. 1, 2007-July 31, 2009).
MVLA is consistently ranked by ECNL as a top-ten club in the country.
