Esteban Sosa Named ECNL Girls Coach of the Year

From ECNL's Press Release : This season, Sosa coached his MVLA U16 girls squad to an ECNL National Championship at the ECNL Girls National Finals, the club's first trophy since 2020-21. Sosa also coached his U15 girls team to the ECNL Girls National Finals, finishing as a Top 8 team in the age group. Fueled by the success of his team and the club overall, MVLA finished 7th in the overall club rankings. "It's an honor and incredibly humbling to be named ECNL Girls Coach of the Year," Sosa said. "I am not the coach I am today without the help of my peers and the amazing coaching staff we have at MVLA. I'm so proud of our club's accomplishments this year and being in the top seven clubs in the country is something we take a lot of pride in. What I love most about coaching in the ECNL is the level of learning that goes on as a coach both in playing against other amazingly talented teams, and having a staff that pushes me to continue learning through different ideas. The ECNL continues to prove why it's the best league in the country through some of the most competitive and well organized events throughout the year."

He's Home! Coach Albertin Returns to MVLA SC as Sporting Director

MVLA SC is thrilled to announce the return of Albertin Montoya as our Sporting Director. As a player, Albertin helped deliver the club’s first national championship in 1993. He has since gone on to coach countless MVLA boys and girls teams to success, while also building an accomplished career at the highest levels of the game—serving as a U.S. Youth National Team head coach and leading professional teams to national championships and NWSL success. Welcome home, Albertin!

NorCal Premier Soccer League

Norcal believes the primary focus of a successful soccer program will be the individual player and their families. Norcal aims to provide:

Cal North Youth Association

The mission of Cal North is to serve all children and communities by providing opportunities that allow each child to grow, learn, mature and succeed by becoming productive adult members of society through the development, promotion, and offering, regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin and/or ability, comprehensive community based leagues that offer a complete range of youth soccer opportunities for all children of all ages and abilities.

TK-3rd Grade

The MVLA Shooting Stars Academy is open to boys and girls in TK/K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade and offers the best soccer after-school program for players starting their soccer journey.

Shooting Stars Academy features three programs per year (fall, winter, spring); signups available by day with additional playdates available on the weekends. Shooting Stars players learn the fundamentals, challenge themselves, and emerge as more confident players, all while having fun in a positive environment.
